About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Analysis Engineer to join our Fuel Design team and contribute to the development of advanced nuclear safety evaluations. This role focuses on performing thermal-hydraulic safety analyses to support the design, licensing, and operation of pressurized water reactors (PWRs) or boiling water reactors (BWRs).

You will work alongside experienced nuclear engineers and analysts to develop and apply accident simulation models, evaluate plant behavior under transient conditions, and support the safe deployment of nuclear fuel technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform and document non-LOCA and LOCA accident analyses using Framatome’s version of RELAP5 or similar thermal-hydraulic codes
Support evaluations of plant and core design changes and their impact on safety margins
Assist in the development and validation of analysis methodologies for new fuel products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of safety analysis results
Contribute to the automation and improvement of analysis tools and workflows
Participate in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and regulatory documentation
Stay informed on nuclear safety regulations and industry best practices

Required:

B.S. or M.S. in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with thermal-hydraulic principles and reactor system behavior
Experience using RELAP or similar code (e.g., TRACE, RETRAN, CATHARE, etc.) to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents.
Proficiency working in Linux
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis and automation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively in a team environment

Preferred:

Experience with PWR or BWR systems
Exposure to accident analysis methodologies and safety evaluation processes
Familiarity with model development, validation, and uncertainty quantification
